Amazonia had to wait the last stage to know the winner of the edition 19. Only 2sec the gap between the leader and the 2nd at the start of the last stage Martino Estrada chased the bonifications. Martino launched a attack, the two men were cooperating till the end after agreeing to leave the stage victory has the leader of the race was on a group fighting for the 4th place. The 2nd place of the stage gave enough time bonus to get the final victory.
The team did an incredible job, on the prologue Durango Garate crossed the line in 1st, Martino 4th & Sergio Bergasa 7th who finished 3rd in GC 4 seasons back. Sergio struggle with two mechanical issue on the prologue. Despite the result he gave precious information to his teammate about the stage, wind etc.
the 2nd stage Martino launched the sprint and was passed by two riders, the team tick this stage a long time ago but it was enough to keep the leader jersey into the team but in the shoulder of Martino.
The king's stage wasn't supposed to be so difficult for the leader of the race who had some problem to keep the rythm. The verdict was tough at the end losing the jersey for 2sec despite to finish in the top 10 of the stage.
Luis had only one goal to get back the jersey and bring it back to Salavdor. The tactic elaborated by the manager was to go full gaz from the start of the stage and making the more damage on the hills. The tactic worked and a Salvadorian rider won Edmonton tour. He will be celebrated like an heroe national.
